LAB 377 – Defending Node.js AI Applications from Improper Output Handling (NEW)
Course Overview
Improper Output Handling occurs when applications consume LLM outputs without validation, allowing unsafe content to propagate to downstream systems which can lead to exploitation, malicious content injection, or unauthorized actions. Aligned with OWASP Top 10 LLM 2025 this lab teaches learners how to secure LLM output handling in Node.js by validating, sanitizing, and constraining outputs, enforcing strict type and format rules, and applying post-processing checks before integration with other systems.
By the end of this skill lab, learners will be able to:
- Detect insecure output handling in LLM-based applications
- Apply validation and sanitization to model outputs
- Enforce type and format rules for safe integration
- Introduce post-processing checks for downstream systems
