Course Overview

Applications with numerous exposed entry points provide attackers with more opportunities to compromise software systems. This course describes how to identify and measure an application’s attack surface, evaluate its relationship to risk, and minimize exposed entry points to strengthen application security.

On successful completion of this course, learners should have the knowledge and skills required to:

• Describe an application’s attack surface and its relationship to risk
• Measure the attack surface of a software system
• Minimize the attack surface to reduce opportunities for exploitation
